Search History and Favorites

The MHS Partner Portal automatically tracks your search history and allows you to save frequently used parts as favorites for quick access.

Search History Overview

Your search history provides: - Record of recent searches with timestamps - Quick re-search functionality with one click - Search pattern analysis to improve efficiency - Automatic cleanup of old searches

The system tracks: - Part numbers searched (exact, fuzzy, and description searches) - Search types used for each query - Search timestamps for reference - Search success/failure status

Accessing Search History

From the Part Enquiry Page: 1. Navigate to Part Enquiry 2. Click “Search History and Favorites” to expand the section 3. View your recent searches in chronological order

From the Dashboard: - Recent Activity feed shows your latest searches - Click on any search to repeat it immediately

Viewing Your Search History

The search history displays:

Recent Searches List: - Part number or search term you used - Search type (exact, fuzzy, description) - Timestamp of when you searched - Quick action buttons for each entry

Search History Actions: - Search Again: Click to repeat the exact same search - Remove: Delete specific searches from your history - Clear All: Remove all search history at once

Search Patterns: - Most searched terms appear more prominently - Failed searches help identify potential issues - Search frequency helps optimize your workflow

Using Search History Effectively

Quick Re-searching: 1. Find the part in your search history 2. Click “Search Again” to repeat the search 3. Results load immediately without retyping

Pattern Recognition: - Identify frequently searched parts for favoriting - Spot common typos in your searches - Optimize search strategies based on success rates

Managing Search History

Removing Individual Searches: 1. Find the search you want to remove 2. Click the “X” button next to the search term 3. Confirm removal if prompted

Clearing All History: 1. Click “Clear All History” at the bottom of the list 2. Confirm you want to delete all search history 3. History is permanently removed

Privacy Considerations: - Search history is personal to your account - Not shared with other users - Automatically cleaned after extended periods - Can be manually cleared at any time

Favorites System

The favorites system allows you to save frequently ordered parts for instant access.

What are Favorites: - Bookmarked parts you order regularly - Quick access list for common items - Personal library of important parts - Cross-device synchronization for your account

Adding Parts to Favorites

From Search Results: 1. Search for and find a part 2. Click the star icon next to the part number 3. Confirmation notification appears 4. Part is added to your favorites list

From Part Details: 1. View the full part information page 2. Click “Add to Favorites” button 3. Part is immediately saved to your favorites

Bulk Adding: - Add multiple parts during a single session - Import from order history (planned feature) - Scan QR codes to add to favorites

Managing Your Favorites

Viewing Favorites: 1. Go to Part Enquiry 2. Expand “Search History and Favorites” 3. Click the “Favorites” tab 4. See all your saved parts

Favorites List Shows: - Part number and description - Last searched date - Quick search and remove buttons - Alphabetical sorting options

Removing from Favorites: 1. Find the part in your favorites list 2. Click the “Remove” button 3. Part is immediately removed
